 At MEG Training Solutions, we offer most types of Fork Lift Truck instruction; Reach, Counter Balance, Moffet Mounty and Hiab. All delivered by RTITB accredited trainers and to RTITB standards.

5 Day Novice FLT Operator Course

This course is designed for the person with little or no experience of lift truck operation. The course includes tuition in safe operating techniques, which involves closely supervised practice in simulated but realistic working areas. The theory of lift truck operation is amply covered through classroom tuition and training films. At the end of the course the trainee will take both a written and a practical test. Successful operators will be issued with a certificate of basic training to meet the HSE requirements.

FLT Experienced Operator Course

Designed specifically for the experienced operator who has not had the benefit of formal training or where corrective tuition is required. The course timetable allows the operator ample time to develop and improve their operating skills under supervision. It also provides the necessary theoretical knowledge of safe working practices and relevant legislation through classroom sessions supported by training films. At the end of the course the trainee will take both a written theory and a practical test. Successful operators will be issued with a certificate of basic training to meet the HSE requirements.

1 Day FLT Operator Refresher Course

This should form part of a companies normal monitoring procedure and be formally timetabled, to ensure that it is done at reasonable intervals, will indicate whether any further training is needed. Employers can, of course, decide that automatic retraining after a set period of time is the best way of ensuring employees are adequately trained. The one day training course consists of theory on up to date legislation and operating standards, remedial training and final theoretical and practical examinations.

1 Day FLT Conversion Course

Designed specifically for the certified operator who has undergone training within the last 6 months on one type of lift truck. To enable him/her to operate a further type of lift truck, i.e. Counterbalance to Reach or vice versa. The course includes classroom theory lessons covering all legislative and operating standards and guidelines leading to a theory test. Practical tuition to HSE standards and examinations.

1 Day Lift Truck Supervisor

This course will provide your staff with knowledge of current legislation, rules and regulations and safe operation of lift trucks.

All our training is in line with, ACOP (Approved Code of Practice) written by the HSE for operators, and company certification is given to prove the operator has undergone training and has achieved minimum competence.

All lift truck operator training courses (novice, experienced, refresher and conversion) can be delivered on customer premises anywhere in Great Britain provided they have:

  1. A mechanically sound fork lift truck for use throughout the duration of the course.
  2. An area that can be closed off for training purposes.
  3. Suitable loads to be moved with the fork lift truck.
  4. A quiet room with a power supply.

*A maximum of three trainees per course
